Authors in Italy and Worldwide: Cavandoli Osvaldo

Osvaldo Cavandoli (Cava) was born in 1920 in Maderno sul Garda, but he lived in Milan from the age of 2 until his death in 2007.

He made his debut as an animator at the age of 23.

From 1950 to 1958 he produced and directed films featuring puppets and marionettes (which he made).

In 1969 he created the character that ensured his lasting fame worldwide, catapulting him among the ranks of the maestros of modern animation: LA LINEA. This charming television character, the essence of graphic minimalism and rhythmic precision, winner of various international festivals and broadcast on TV in forty-odd countries, has also been translated into book form and starred in several advertising campaigns and many illustrated texts.

Cava also produced comic vignettes and illustrations featuring other characters.
